Emergency Lighting Inspection Service
Back to Services
Receptor will carry out half yearly routine service inspection visits to site to inspect and test the emergency lighting system in accordance with the functional requirements of the current British Standard BS5266 Part 1.
A typical service Inspection schedule is shown below: -
- Inspect the entries contained within the logbook. Ensure that appropriate action has been taken and recorded.
- Carry out a visual inspection of the luminaries, checking for damage or wear. Check external luminaries for damage of ingress of water.
- Inspect the fixings of the fittings for safety and reliability.
- Check the condition of the standby batteries and that they are capable of providing power in the event of mains failure.
- Where failures are found, inspect the internal interconnections of the fittings for correct connections.
- Check that all units comply with British and European signage directives/ rules.
- Check that all units operate correctly under 1-hour under mains supply failure each year. This can be extended to 3-hour test under separate cover.
- Check all units are charging correctly once power from the mains supply is restored.
- Check that there have been no changes to the premises that will effect the operation of the emergency lighting system and the protection it provides.
Any defects will be noted in the logbook and service reports will be generated for the customer’s records.
Receptor will endeavour to respond to any additional engineering ‘call out’ requests to emergency lighting systems within the agreed timescale.
